The Executive Image Problem

Your headshot appears in board packets, annual reports, press releases, conference materials, and executive profiles. It represents not just you, but the company and shareholders who depend on your leadership.

Most executives settle for adequate corporate headshots that check a box. They look professional enough but fail to project the authority and strategic thinking that got you to the C-suite. The difference between an adequate headshot and executive portraiture is the difference between looking like you have a job and looking like you run the company.

Executive studio portraiture creates that distinction. These are not quick corporate headshots. These are deliberate, sophisticated portraits that reflect the gravity of your position while maintaining the approachability that builds trust with teams, investors, and stakeholders.

What Executive Studio Portraiture Includes

Initial 20-Minute Phone Consultation
We start with a brief call to understand your role, your company culture, and where these portraits will be used. Board materials require different energy than investor presentations. Media appearances need different polish than internal communications. This conversation helps me understand what we’re creating and why.

In-Person Strategy and Wardrobe Consultation
After you book, we schedule an in-person consultation at my Los Gatos studio (typically 1-1.5 hours). This happens a few days to 2-3 weeks before your actual photo session, depending on my availability and your schedule.

We discuss your executive presence, the message these portraits need to convey, and the specific contexts where they’ll appear. We review wardrobe options, background choices, and the subtle elements that distinguish executive portraiture from standard business headshots. You’ll arrive at your session knowing exactly what we’re creating.

Professional Hair and Makeup
Every executive studio portraiture session includes professional styling (60-75 minutes). Even minimal grooming makes a measurable difference in how polished and authoritative your portraits appear. For men, this means professional grooming and shine control. For women, this means sophisticated makeup that enhances without appearing obvious.

Extended Studio Session
Executive portraiture sessions have no time limit. We shoot multiple setups and variations until we’ve captured exactly what you need. Typical sessions run 2-3 hours. We work at whatever pace allows us to create portraits that meet the standards your position demands.

Multiple Looks and Contexts
Bring 2-4 wardrobe options depending on how these portraits will be used. Classic corporate for annual reports and board materials. Perhaps business casual for internal leadership communications. We’ll create variations that work across every executive context you need.

Sophisticated Studio Setups
My Los Gatos studio at 117 Broadway is designed for executive portraiture. We’ll shoot classic backgrounds that convey authority, modern setups that project innovation, perhaps environmental portraits that show leadership in context. Every setup serves a specific strategic purpose.

Detailed Direction and Refinement
Executive portraiture requires precision. Small adjustments to posture, expression, and body language create the difference between looking competent and looking commanding. I’ve worked with Silicon Valley executives for 16 years. I know how to capture the confidence and authority your position requires.

Image Selection
If we do image selection the same day, we’ll sit down together in person at the studio after your session. If we do it the next day, you choose whether you’d prefer to come back in person or hop on Zoom, whatever fits your schedule better.

You’ll see all your images. We’ll discuss which portraits work best for which executive contexts, and you’ll choose your selections. Then we talk retouching preferences. Executive portraiture typically requires sophisticated retouching that maintains authenticity while ensuring every detail projects polish and professionalism.

Professional Retouching on All Purchased Images
Every image you select receives professional retouching matched to executive standards. This is not heavy-handed editing. This is refined, sophisticated retouching that ensures you look exactly like yourself on your best day in the best light.

Expedited Delivery
You’ll receive your professionally retouched executive portraits within 1-3 business days via website download. High-resolution files ready for immediate use in time-sensitive executive communications.

The Align. Shine. Scale. Method™

My executive studio portraiture are part of my comprehensive Portrait Studio Los Gatos approach built on 16 years of experience serving 900+ clients throughout the Bay Area.

Align with Clarity

We start by understanding your role, your company, and the specific contexts where these portraits will appear. Executive portraiture is not one-size-fits-all. We align your imagery to your position and the message you need to convey.

Shine with Confidence

With professional styling, precise direction, and a studio environment designed for executive sessions, you’ll project the authority and confidence your position requires. I’ve worked with camera-shy executives throughout Silicon Valley, South Bay, and East Bay. Even leaders who avoid cameras find the process straightforward and professional.

Scale with Strategy

You’ll leave with executive portraits and clear guidance on where each image works best. Annual report versus LinkedIn profile. Board materials versus media kit. You’ll know which portrait serves which purpose.

“Gaby is a total pro at making you feel comfortable and relaxed”

I’m so glad I found Gaby Clark Photography! I was feeling super overwhelmed about getting new photos for my personal branding because, let’s be honest, I had no clue where to start. and most importantly, how do I make sure the photos actually show who I am.

Enter Gaby. From the first consultation, she made everything so easy. We sat down in person and went through everything like, EVERYTHING. She asked all the right questions about my business, the vibe I wanted to give off, and even where I planned to use the photos (LinkedIn, website, speaking gigs, etc.).
