Think You’re Not Photogenic?

I used to believe that too. After years of photographing families, professionals, and individuals from every walk of life, I realized something important: looking great in photos isn’t about being “naturally photogenic.” It’s about having the right guidance, lighting, and techniques. That’s exactly what I bring to every session.

  • Professional Hair & Makeup: Polished, natural, and camera-ready.
  • Flattering Lighting & Angles: Expert setups that bring out your best features.
  • Guided Posing: Step-by-step direction so you feel natural, confident, and authentic.
  • Thoughtful Editing: Retouching that enhances without ever overdoing it.

I know how uncomfortable it can feel to step in front of the camera. But with the right approach, you’ll see yourself differently, confident, powerful, and ready to show up online with pride.

You deserve photos that not only look good but make you feel good every time you share them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Professional Headshots

What is the difference between a headshot and a portrait?

A headshot is specifically designed for professional use—focusing on your face and shoulders to showcase your professional presence. Headshots are typically used for LinkedIn, company websites, speaker profiles, and business cards. A portrait is broader and more artistic, capturing more of your personality and environment. For professional purposes, a strategic headshot is what you need.

What is a modern headshot?

I specialize in modern headshots, which give you much more versatility and bang for your money. Unlike traditional tight headshots, modern headshots are photographed with more space around you, so they can be cropped multiple ways. The same image can be used as a tight headshot for LinkedIn, cropped differently for Instagram, or used full-frame with space to add text, logos, or messages for marketing materials and social media. It’s designed to adapt perfectly for both personal profiles and branded content.

What should I wear for my professional headshot?

Wear what you’d wear to meet your ideal client or to an important business meeting. Solid colors work best—avoid busy patterns, large logos, or distracting accessories. During your consultation, I’ll provide specific wardrobe guidance based on your industry and brand. I also have a studio wardrobe available if you need options.

How long does a headshot session take?

Headshot sessions typically take 30-60 minutes. This includes time for hair and makeup touch-ups, wardrobe adjustments, and capturing multiple looks and expressions. I don’t rush sessions—we take the time needed to ensure you look and feel confident.

Is professional hair and makeup included?

Yes! Professional hair and makeup are included in every headshot session. My experienced team ensures you look polished and camera-ready. Even if you think you don’t need it, professional makeup makes a significant difference in how you photograph.

I’m not photogenic. Can you still make me look good?

Absolutely! Most of my clients say they’re “not photogenic,” but being photogenic isn’t about genetics—it’s about working with a professional who knows how to direct you, light you properly, and capture your best angles. I’ll guide you through every pose and expression. You’ll be amazed at how great you look.

Will you retouch my headshots?

Yes, professional retouching is included for every final image you select. I offer “responsible editing” that enhances your natural features while keeping you authentic. I’ll remove blemishes, stray hairs, and clothing wrinkles, but you’ll still look like yourself—just polished and professional.

Can I get multiple looks or backgrounds?

Yes! During your session, we can capture multiple looks with different outfits and backgrounds. This gives you versatility for different platforms and uses. Many clients like having both a traditional corporate look and a more approachable, casual option. With modern headshots, each image can be used in multiple ways.

How can I use my modern headshots?

Modern headshots are incredibly versatile. You can crop them tight for LinkedIn profiles, use them full-frame for your website, add text or logos for social media posts, create branded marketing materials, use them in email signatures, speaker one-sheets, media kits, and more. One professional session gives you images that work everywhere you need them.

When will I see my headshots and receive final images?

There are two options depending on your session type. For Express Sessions, images are selected right away after the session and final retouched images are delivered within 1-2 days. For Full Custom Headshot Sessions, images can be selected right away or 1-2 days after the session, and final retouched images are delivered within a week.

How many headshots will I receive?

The number of final images depends on the package you choose. During your viewing appointment, you’ll select your favorite images to be retouched and delivered. I capture many more images than you’ll need, so you’ll have plenty of great options to choose from.

Where do headshot sessions take place?

All headshot sessions take place in my studio in downtown Los Gatos at 117 Broadway. The studio has professional lighting, multiple backgrounds, and everything needed to create polished, professional headshots. The controlled environment ensures consistent, high-quality results.

Do you offer outdoor or on-location headshots?

While most headshots are done in my Los Gatos studio for optimal lighting control, I can discuss on-location options for corporate teams or special circumstances. Contact me to discuss your specific needs and we’ll find the best solution.

How often should I update my professional headshot?

You should update your headshot every 1-2 years, or whenever your appearance changes significantly (new hairstyle, weight change, aging). If your current headshot is more than 3 years old or doesn’t look like you anymore, it’s time for an update. Your headshot should always represent how you look today.

Can you photograph my team or multiple people?

Yes! I specialize in corporate headshot sessions for teams and companies. I can photograph multiple people in one session, ensuring everyone has cohesive, professional headshots. Contact me to discuss your team’s needs and scheduling.

How much do professional headshots cost in Los Gatos?

Professional headshot pricing varies based on the package you choose and how many final images you need. Contact me for a free consultation where we can discuss your specific needs and I’ll provide detailed pricing information tailored to your goals.

What is your rescheduling policy?

I understand that life happens. If you need to reschedule due to illness or an emergency, your session fee will carry over to your new date. I do charge a rescheduling fee of $250 to keep my schedule running smoothly.

What if I’m running late?

Punctuality helps me provide top-notch service to all my clients. If you’re running late, please let me know as soon as possible. Arriving more than 20 minutes late for a headshot session may require rescheduling, and rescheduling fees may apply.
