I know the recommended time to do a newborn session is within the first 15 days of life. However, after doing exclusively newborn sessions for 11 years, I find that doing your session after 15 days old is not an issue; as a matter of fact it sometimes goes better since I am then working with a baby that has adjusted to his/her new environment. I can guarantee beautiful newborn images of babies up to 6 weeks old and if your baby was premature, I will do the session whenever he/she comes out of the hospital.

There are several different reasons to do a newborn session after 15 days of birth.

Yes, I have a brand-new studio located in downtown Los Gatos. The studio is on my property but not in my house. It is completely independent and surrounded with trees and great views.

Yes, I have most things you see on my website and a lot more. I have a huge collection of high-end, internationally-sourced handmade headbands, bonnets, outfits, rompers, and wraps, etc. Your newborn session will be fully styled based on your color preferences. You don’t need to bring anything, but if you have a special family heirloom please bring it so we can incorporate it during the session.

All newborn sessions are held in my studio located in Los Gatos in order to have to have the right conditions for success, like keeping the studio at 90 degrees (so the baby is comfortable during the 3-4 hour session while being naked), controlling the light, and of course access to all my props and my beautiful mountain-like backyard for unique outdoor portraits.

All sessions are by appointment only and most of the time scheduled weeks or months in advance.

It’s never too early to book! Newborn sessions should be booked during your pregnancy – the earlier the better as I am usually booked weeks/months in advance.

In order to reserve a spot in my calendar you only need to pay the session fee in full, then I pencil in your due date to hold your spot; this way your baby will have priority on my schedule. I only do a limited amount of sessions per month to accommodate the various arrival dates. This means whether your little one decides to come early or late, I will do the session within day 7-21 after your baby is born, unless there is a complication and your baby has to stay in the hospital for a bit longer than normal – in that case we’ll do the session whenever you are ready.

Yes! Contact me right away to see my availability. With over 11 years’ experience photographing newborns, I specialize in older newborn babies up 6 weeks old. Please go here for more information about photographing your older newborn.

Newborn sessions can last up to 3-4  hours,  it all depends how your little one is doing. There will be plenty of time for feeding and soothing breaks as needed.

I don’t rush sessions and I don’t like to be rushed either.

Yes, parents and siblings are included during the session at no additional charge. Living in the Bay Area there are a lot of grandparents coming from out of town or out of the country. Bring them over as well for one picture or just to see how a newborn session. They always love watching!

Once you are booked and on my calendar, I will email you so you can tell me your preferences for the session, like colors, poses you would like me to do, etc. I will also give you tips and information on how to prepare for a smooth newborn session.

Your private gallery will be ready 15 days after your session. All images in your gallery are retouched and ready to print.
