When it comes to photographing newborns, the traditional ideal time is typically within the first 15 days of life. However, as a seasoned newborn photographer with 14 years of experience, I can confidently say that babies up to 6-8 weeks old can still produce beautiful images. In fact, waiting a little longer may even be beneficial since the baby has had time to adjust to their new environment. If your baby was born prematurely, we can schedule the session whenever they are released from the hospital. So don’t worry if you missed the 15-day mark – I’m here to capture your little one’s precious moments whenever is best for you and your family.

All newborn sessions are held in my studio located in Los Gatos in order to have to have the right conditions for success, like keeping the studio at 90 degrees (so the baby is comfortable during the 3-4 hour session while being naked), controlling the light, and of course access to all my props and my beautiful mountain-like backyard for unique outdoor portraits.

So, the exact timing of the session is determined by the size of your belly and we prioritize your comfort throughout the session.
